Default Third brake light quit working...

Hi Guys!

Brand new to this site, so hopefully I'm not asking a previous question. Still trying to figure this all out.

I recently installed LED's on my 2010 F150. I did the map lights, and two of the three lights in the third brake light (the third bulb wasn't included in my shipment). I was too anxious to install them, so i put two of the three in. I installed the two end bulbs and left the middle bulb as the OEM bulb. The new ones light up, but for some reason the OEM bulb doesn't shine anymore...

I tried installing a different bulb incase it was the bulb and I got the same result - nada thing. The wiring looks to be ok and the socket/connection looks good too.

Any idea why the middle OEM bulb took a dump on me?

If it helps I used these as the end bulbs from superbrightleds -

Correct. I'll hit the brakes and I get nothing from the OEM bulb.

Ommmm ... Only the center bulb is the stop light. Are you holding the brake pedal and checking the light at the same time? *As should be done for checking the stop lights.

As stevebass4 noted, the two outside bulbs are the cargo lights.

i'd get another regular bulb and try it or test the oem bulb with a meter - who knows maybe the filament broke when you took it out

Check for voltage at the bulb socket with the brakes applied.
