Not really. It's a tad over 2,000 RPMs at 70 with 3.73s vs 3.31s it was a tad under 2,000 RPMs. I don't remember the exact RPMs at 70, but it increased by about 400. It's a welcome change.

In my experience thus far there is no downside to swapping from 3.31s to 3.73s.

I looked at the truck this mourning and yea it look bad on 28" tires. I think I'm going with 4:10. I'm going to order them today so next week for install I hope. I can get the gears, limited slip and all bearing from my ford dealer for $814 out the door, since no one else makes a aftermarket 4:10 yet. I drove a tremor last week and it was not bad on the highway and there 4:10 correct?

Yea, the RPMs are nothing. 3.31s dont belong in a truck IMO. Thats done to get the pretty highway MPG numbers for the EPA... the irony is it sucks more fuel during non-highway driving where most people spend the majority of their drive time anyways. LOL.

My 87 F150 (not mine any longer but still in the family still runs fine - no clue what the ODO reads anymore) had 3.55s, a C6 (meaning no OD) and 28.8" tire height. 70mph was 2,900-3,000rpm in 3rd (1:1)

On these trucks, 4.10s = 2,200rpm @ 70mph (with a 30" tire) which is nothing... ESPECIALLY on this generation engine. Once no more accel is requested, the ECU has the VVT do its thing, she quiets right down, and you would not know its running more revs unless you look at the tach.

I ran the truck In 5th for about 100 miles on the highway the other day going 75 and 2500 rpms. The mileage got better actually cause I was fighting a 25-30 mph head wind. It wasn't bad at all.

I would bet a 4.10:1 would turn more than 2500 RPMs at 75, but not much more.

I have a 2014 super cab f150 4x4 regular v6 for work, it averages 19-23 on highway going 75 mph. Tires are 235/75/17 = 30.88" tall, 6r80 trans, and 3:73 rpms are not bad at all on highway. Glad I looked to compare and ordered 4:10 now.
Thanks for info guys.

I'll report back once installed
