Yeah, I realize that but call me sentimental.

The new 5.0 is completely new but I can understand the nostalgia angle. As far as leg room the F150 is insane, I can't imagine any vehicle having more. I'm 6'1 and leave the seat far from all the way back. I DO wish I had a telescopic steering wheel as I'd like to be a little further back but don't like being so far away from the wheel.

Flow through or not you should be good to go. Good luck and enjoy!

Yes, it is nice to have the "5.0" back in the lineup ---- I am glad you knew the difference too.
The old LX Mustang 5.0 (without all the GT fru-fru and added weight) was a real sleeper. Off the line and into second gear was ALWAYS a thrill! You had to DRIVE the thing too, because there was no traction control. Ahhhh, the good old days of real driving skill!

I am looking forward, after a couple of years with my 5.4L 3V 2010 to driving the new 5.0 and the EB in the F150. That should give Ford some real world experience with both of those new engines.
We are going to retire soon and haul a TT around the country --- so that may effect which engine (diesel ----- maybe!) I'll consider next time.

It says that this is standard on KING RANCH and up. So, is it an option on anything else? Specifically, I want a Lariat, anything above that gets too pricey. Can I get telescoping steering on a Lariat as an option or do I have to go up to one of the +$40k trucks to get this option? I really don't care if it is power or has memory, I just need to be able to telescope out the steering wheel as I am tall and put the seat back quite a bit.

I have a 2011 Lariat Screw

It has the telescoping/tilt wheel. It is manual adjust on the std. Lariat. Works perfect for me, once I set it I haven't touched it . I am the only one driving my truck 99% of the time

I would so love to see the schematics of the 2011 column vs 2010 to see if a retro fit could ever happen. Just can’t find my *ss grove in this rig yet.

Thank you very much. It did look from the literature that the manually adjusting column would be in there, but it is nice to see it confirmed.

I am within about 3 months of purchasing a new truck. I am pretty much set on the Lariat 2WD. Supercrew. I would like the 4WD, but that adds quite a bit of money and I wouldn't use it 97% of the time. I would prefer just the extended cab for looks, but I have children so the supercrew is much more practical.

The only thing that I am on the fence about is the engine: 5.0L vs the 3.5L EB.

The new Ecoboost sounds really cool, I have watched all the torture test videos on Ford.com and those are fun to watch. I have a test-drive scheduled in January of the ecoboost. I love new technology and I am sure that the EB will get better gas mileage. Part of me is still kind of scared of owning a turbo long-term and wonder if I'd eventually wish I had just gotten the V8. I will probably keep this truck 10 years or more.

The 5.0L is perhaps a sentimental favorite as I had a 302 in my '94 and it was such a great engine. The new one is aluminum, 32 valve, twin independant cam, all that good stuff and is nearly twice as powerful as the old one I had. Kind of leaning that way, but it'd be nice to get the gas mileage of the V6.

Might come down to what the exhaust notes sound like.

Anyway, I appreciate all you guys' help on this.

its better to have 4x4 and not need it than to need it and not have it. been reading this thread about someone wanting to go skiing and wondering how they are going to get up the mountain with a 2x4 truck if it starts snowing.
