Default 2010 XLT Brakes

Stupid question I'm sure but I was backing out yesterday and I heard my brakes squeak. There's 18,000 miles on the truck, can it really need brakes already? I mean I'm not the worst driver ever but, I do drive 30 miles round trip in town everyday to work and home...Can I need brakes already?

You shouldn't. If you bought it at a dealer take it to them. I wouldn't spend anything out of pocket not even to have it looked at I've had my brakes for 56000 miles and still goin strong. Sounds like a problem with the pads though so I'm sure it wouldn't serious might even just be water goin there or they were cold but if it were me I would still just stay on the side of caution.

That's the nature of the Ford F150 brakes. If you noticed, it was damp or wet weather and it only does it early in the morning but after a few mile it goes away.

I suppose you could change the brake pads. The sound you're hearing was the same on all 3 of my F150's. By the time I remembered to bring it to the attention of the service department, it was gone.

The sound will eventually go away with a few miles.

This is one of those, "Mine does that to" cases.

Squeaking is annoying but not a problem, unless it just drives you bat-shiite.

GRINDING, on the other hand....not good.

depends on how much towing you do. all mine the rears go low before the fronts. the rears brakes apply slightly before fronts. we needed rears at 28000 on the 09. then again ford stock pads sqeek and wear fast.

Every ford I have had since 2000 has done this either early in the morning when its humid out or if it has been parked and it was raining. This happened even with brand new(5 miles on them) Ford brake pads and rotors. Not sure why it does but it just happens
