I remember when I had a GMC and all the posters on a GM board I was on made fun of the tail gate step.

Now that I have one on my truck I wouldn't want it any other way.

All trucks should have the step!

I'f I was 6.5' tall I might make fun of the step too - but I'm not. So they'd make fun of me trying to haul my old *** up onto the bumper with my stubby leggs anyways so might as well make it easier on myself That FX4 is so much taller than my old 2000 F150 I traded in was.

Lol, I thought it was neat but thought it was a gimmick. I now have the tailgate step and think it's awesome, I use it all the time. It even makes a good footrest when tailgating!

I am 6'2" and love it. My cousin just traded his 2011 ECO for a GMC 2500, and misses his step, he said the bumper corner steps are no comparison to the pull down step, even worse with muddy steel toes.

The Amp Research step is an awesome unit. I like it because we tow a lot and often cannot lower the tailgate with the trailer attached. With the AR unit, it doesn't matter. And it is a help of a lot less fall-der-all than the factory unit in the tailgate. One quick pull and you are ready to go.
