Love the step-especially "walking down" out of the truck instead of jumping down like I used to do. I also cracked the corners of my '04 climbing in that way. I have the side steps too. Really great to use to just grab something that slid forward. I used to climb on the tires which bent the tonneau frame a bit because of grabbing on. Still in good shape at 55 but well aware that "the (body) parts are wearing out a bit" so I really like the little aids that protect them!

I plan on deleting the pole and putting in the blank plate then line X the tailgate.

I have an STX and when I was looking at trucks this one had everything I wanted and it just had the step. My truck was an impulse buy. Lol

I have a 2012 XLT with the tailgate step and I love it. I'm 5'5" so I need it to get in and out the bed of the truck. Plus my knees ache so I'm not jumping in and out of truck beds anymore. Been there, done that.
