Default Tail Light Theft

My right rear tail light got stolen last night.
I filed a police report and they think its probably a auto-body shop that did it.
They knew how to do it too.
Open the tail gate, undo two screws and pop the entire tail light assembly out. Thankfully the wires were not cut.

So, keep your tail gate locked too!

Damn. Say the left one got stolen too and give it to me! Mine got scratched up by a palmetto... Just kidding, but that really sucks. Glad I keep my tailgate locked!

that is hilarious, it's don't take a rocket scientist to find out how to steal a taillight. oh another case for andy and barney

i wish automakers would catch on and have power tailgate locks already, lock the door, locks the tailgate too, just something they could easily do and save a guy the trouble of getting robbed.

Uhmm... none to be found. Maybe YOU can find me either an aftermarket link or an ebay link.

NO ONE seems to have the 2009 model. It was redesigned, so aftermarket manufacturers have not caught up yet. No big demand, except ME!

For some reason, I was thinking about this today when my bulb worked when I parked my truck, then went to use it the other morning how easy it would be to take them. Other than locking the tailgate, I would think a torx bit head would be about the only way to prevent it again.

Wow.
Cost likely to be too low to make an insurance claim.
