Default new lightning!

My boss had a 99 black lightning and I took it for a ride and I remember it being insanely powerful and fast for a truck. Who thinks a lightning with the new body style would be a big seller? Imagine a supercharged 5.0 or 6.2???? I would try like hell to afford one! Come on FoMoCo bring back the lightning

I like the concept. i own a 2010 roush 427r mustang but would probably trade if there was a supercharged 5.0 lightning. I am on a roush webforum and there are guys getting 600+ hp out of supercharged 5.0's with the correct tune and other parts.

That's a lot of hp. There's a bunch of youtube videos of 800-1000+ hp lightnings. I am sure they are heavily modded but I just think it would be cool with the new body style

The 5.4 is a strong block. The 5.0 has to much compression in the mustang and I am not sure what the limits of the 5.0 in the truck is. Ford sales a 5.0 with lower compression for supercharged cars. I believe kenne bell has a supercharger for the 6.2 now though.

I think the weight of these trucks is the problem. The driveline would probably need a revamp to accommodate the power. I read a while back SVT was looking at the Sport Trac as a candidate. But yes, a Lightnin P/U would be nice!

Look up evolution performance on you tube or their website of what they have done with a 5.0. Their fastest car has a forged block but VMP tuning has a car in the high 9's with stock block. I love the concept. My neighbor had a 02 lightning and was pushing 518hp at the tires. It was a blast to drive.

If a new lightning came out I would buy one in a heart beat! I have a 2001 lightning pushing 550hp 600tq. It is a beast! I have to say I recently bought a Platinum with the 5.0 and am very impressed with the power for the size of the truck. The Platinum is great for an every day driver!
