My Cell Phone Mount + USB2 Mod
First off, thanks to the other forum members for the detailed instructions on the USB2 Mod.
I combined my little project of creating a custom non-intrusive cell mount and the USB2 mod so that it would be in the location to provide power and data access from my phone and my phone would be in a location I can easily reach it.
That being said, I've attached some pictures of each project and the final results which I am very pleased with. The functionality is great!
Cell Phone Mount:
My idea came from this company, ProClips:

I just couldn't justify spending almost 40 bucks on a piece of plastic....so I created my own using some spare cable guides laying around the house. This is what I butchered from Lowes to do the job, the clip part had the same contour as the dash:
Product Name:Wiremold Cablemate Chair Rail Kit

Using a Dremel I cut the plastic to size, then glued the 3 pieces together(Front Clip, Bar, Rear clip) and sprayed it with some textured paint then PlastiDip. Finally, I glued the suction pad to the mount.
Moving on to the USB2 Mod, I drilled the hole in the dash tray and rubber. Then as many of you have done, plugged the adapter and cable in, and gave it a test drive.....and it works great
Final Product:
Happy to hear any thoughts and suggestions.....this was a fun and pretty easy project to start off with on a 3 week old truck......thanks!

The first link takes you to the product that you did not buy. The second, to Lowes, does not go to a product specific page. There are no other pics that I can see in this thread atm. I am intersted in your phone mount. I use my phone for gps, since I bought the 2010 used, and dont wanna pay for the sync gps. I just haven't yet figured out where I want to put it, and how.

Boost :)
I did something similar, but didn't make it permanent. I just ran a cord from the back of the stereo to the back of my cell phone holder that has a charging port built into it.
Also lets me use the Torque app to watch and monitor boost and all that other stuff

That looks real clean, I like it. Do you have the pad taped to the dash, I couldn't get mine to adhere so i went for the clip mount situation.
Dig the app also, may have to look into that
