Default Sync won't work!

Hello, I'm new to this forum and owning a Ford. You can read my introduction in the "Newbie" forum. My new to me 09 FX4 has Sync but nothing seems to work. I'll push the phone button either on the steering wheel controls or radio controls and nothing will come across the display. It won't prompt me for my cell phone, it doesn't ask to add new device, nothing. It almost seems like the software has been erased. Is it possible for me to re-load the software?? Can I down-load new software from Syncmyride.com?? I bought the truck from a Chrsyler dealer quite a distance from where I live so there's no going back there. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW, it's great owning a Ford!!
Thanks
Dutch

First try pulling the fuse for sync, look in the manual not sure for 2009. If that fails go to syncmyride and follow the instructions to check for an update

The most obvious would be take it to Ford. Other than that, on the stereo deck there should be some settings menu you can get to that you can sync your phone up with via bluetooth. It works quite well.

Did you check the manual?

^^^That's the ticket. The fuse may be blown, or just needs a reboot. Hope that's all. If all else fails, it may be a trip to the Ford dealer. Welcome to the forum, and enjoy that ride. You won't go back.

BTW, check your trucks in service date. It may still have some warranty left if the miles are low enough.
