sound coming from front shocks
I've had my fx4 for 6 months now, and I hear a clunking sound everytime I take sharp turns into a driveway or when I'm doing u turns. I brought it back to ford for them to repair it but they told me its a known issue with the new f150's and its not fixable! Which I think is complete bullsh*t!! They told me not to over steer my truck! I was just wondering if any of you guys out there have the same issue that I'm having.

I have it too. It happends when I turn into my driveway and go over a 1in. lip. I can go up smooth inclines all day and never hear it until I go into my drive way. I hate to roll over on many issuse but I have just learned to live with it. I have never had any of my Ford trucks fall apart on me and this is still a SOLID truck. I could not re-create the issue for the dealer but it is really not a problem for me. I still drive the crap out of it and I love it!

This should help
Steering stops- A small piece of rubber or plastic is mounted to the lower control arm or on the steering knuckle that acts as a door stop for the wheel radius. The steering stop will not allow the wheel to turn beyond the recommended turning radius. I included this picture because I receive a few emails each month with complaints of a loud creaking noise when the steering wheel is turned all the way in one direction. The metal steering stops can become rusty and make a creak noise when the opposing stop makes contact. The solution to the noise is to apply a thin layer of grease on the stops.
