Sync 4.4 Update Issues

Default Sync 4.4 Update Issues

I just purchased a 2010 F-150. I love it. It is running Sync 3.01. I registered with SyncMyRide, did a vehicle health report (the website knows I have 3.01), downloaded the update. I attempted these things based on forum recommendations:

Format USB stick FAT32
Master Reset
Delete all files but update on USB Key
Redownload file, try different computers, try different USB keys.

I get "Installing Application"... then about 15 seconds later "Installation Failed" with a voice prompt that says it may not be compatible with this version or not enough space available. I've tried everything I can think of, posting here for ideas is my last resort.

Hi. I am having issues with new iOS versions, and I like to keep up to date. Anyways, thanks for the update on 4.6!

I didnt download the last update as guys were having a bunch of issues with it. I will wait to download 4.6 until its been out for a while.

Go read the (Sticky) Sync / Bluetooth thread at the top of this subforum to get filled in on the Sync Update history and experiences from users. Plenty of us wish we never would have updated.

i havent figured out how to make a post yet so sorry for jumping in on this one. I did the download for usb not sure what version but comes up as DE8T-14D544-AC. The usb is formated properly. I unzip the file and move it onto the usb drive. Syncmyride, install and autoinstall are the files i move over onto usb drive. When i move i put it in my truck the truck doesnt recognize any files. Any help would be appreciated.

So 4.4 was out for a year or so I think and still appears as available for download on the Ford owner website, but then when you download it, it fails. So what does Ford Sync support do - nothing. They leave the ZIP file up as though it works and when an owner downloads it it fails. Two solutions should have been available -either take it down altogether or put the original one back that worked. But Ford decides to just leave a bad ZIP file up so people waste their time trying to do an update that does not work. Thanks Ford Sync support.
