Sync 4.4 update issues

If you log into your Owner account at Owner.Ford.Com and click on the SYNC & HOW-TOS tab, then CHECK FOR SYNC UPDATE. It should tell you which version you currently have and allow you to download the 4.4 update if it's available for your truck. Version 4.4 just came out in March.
Is your USB formatted to FAT32, bluedsteel?
This can happen when one or more songs is no longer compatible with SYNC. Try our SYNC My iTunes program to check and correct your metadata. You can get to it in your Owner account under the SYNC & HOW-TOS tab, then clicking on CHECK FOR SYNC UPDATES.

I downloaded the new update and followed the install instructions, but it just stays at the installing updated screen I let it sit for and hour and nothing happened. not even the first install complete audio.
I call Ford for help and the lady I talked to said she didn't know why I had a problem and to just wait for the next update.

I'd like to help! Is your radio stuck on the INSTALLING UPDATES message when the USB is removed?
The update can't be reinstalled. What issues are you experiencing, and have you tried a master reset: http://owner.ford.com/sync-technolog...ter-reset-sync

I went to my dealer this weekend (sync has never worked properly) and got that deer in headlights look from the service advisor. Pulled out the trusty iPad and went to the page explaining it and got an even dumber look.
He called over his "go to guy" for sync and even he had that same dumb look.
I would install it myself but unfortunately I only have an iPad.

Are you able to consult with another dealer? If not, PM your full name, VIN, best contact number, mileage, and the dealership's information.

I'm gonna try a different dealer. This isn't the first....um... issue I've had with them it's been two years now since I complained about paint missing. They made one appointment for me to drop it off but unfortunately I needed the truck for a work related trip. I asked them to reschedule me and they never got back to me.
Thus thing with the sync doesn't surprise me, it just reaffirms my suspicions that this dealers service department is lack lustre.
As far as another dealer, it's not easy when they're about 45 minutes away (my dealer was over an hour away)

Mine is 25 mins away. I think of it as a way to get the truck out and enjoy some quiet time.

I suggest contacting the dealer before showing up. Give them a little background of the issue, so they'll be ready. Let me know how it goes.
Sounds like you've done a lot of troubleshooting. Have you tried another USB drive?
