Sync

SYNC is indeed garbage!!!
SYNC is fit for the pit!
My 2013 MFT hasn't had an update since the dealer received it brand new "apparently" and according to syncmyride it's up to date!!!
Apparently if I go to the dealer, they can update it... What a joke.
Microsoft laughed all the way to the bank with Sync. Why? Because Ford OBVIOUSLY didn't test it completely with different operating systems and probably had some old suits testing it when they should've had the young hipsters finding all the issues that plague the system TO THIS DAY!

Elkymutt, if yours is a 13, there is definitely one if not two updates available to you.
I just did the 3.8 update on mine which is the MFT.
Have you run a vehicle health report lately. That may update your profile and show the available updates.

Hey everyone,
We're not authorized to recommend fuse pulls. We're advised to suggest master resets as an alternative. Issues are usually resolved with this process. In the event that it is not we encourage our customers to visit their dealership if a fuse pull is needed.
Master reset instructions are available here: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...ter-reset.html
Also, please ensure you have the latest version of SYNC available: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...p-to-date.html
Hi elkymutt,
Please send me a PM with your VIN so I can look into this further. Let's get things turned around.

Just some real world experience here. Any time that I had an issue with my Sync, a master reset never fixed the issue(s). ie: the mic not working, Bluetooth not being active, Bluetooth audio playing through phone calls (very annoying), etc. It became so bad that I keep a pair of needle nose in the glove box so I can do it quickly. Actually recently had my system fail to the point where it had to rebooted / reflashed by the dealer with the most recent update and it still doesn't work correctly.
Does anyone else feel like they have more issues when using remote start / Bluetooth audio?

Add me to the list of frequent fuse pullers. Since the update, this is a monthly issue for me. It is infuriating and I would replace the whole radio with a maestro and pioneer head unit if I didn't still need SYNC for voice calls.
All of that said, about every month on the money, the bluetooth deactivates itself and the only way to fix it is to pull the fuse. I always try a master reset first and it never works. I have even tried reinstalling the V4.4 update AFTER a master reset hoping that maybe something had gotten corrupted with the initial install. Still didn't fix it.
This issue is infuriating and makes me want to go and replace the stereo with my credit card right now.

Have you gone to the dealer for assistance with this issue? They may need to reprogram the SYNC module.
Garrett,
Got it! I'll be looking into it shortly.
