Default Sunroof use

Quick question. I have a 2012 Fully loaded PLatinum with sunroof. I'll be looking to purchase new, either a 16 model, or for sure a 17 when the time comes. I'm seriously considering not ordering a sunroof this time around. I've used mine 5, maybe 6 times in the 3 plus years of ownership. However, the sliding rear is open whenever weather permits. What are your thoughts? Would you order a new one, with or without the sunroof.

Personal preference. It's whatever you want.
Do you leave the shade open even if the glass is not open? Might be useful for that purpose.

This will be a 50/50 split.
There will be guys like me, who've always had one, and that use it every chance I get, without a single issue with any of them.

Then there's going to be the dead set against them, because they leaked in past, or are nervous they may, in the future.

Personally for me, having the windows down, the roof open, with the rear slider open as well. Is just a very enjoyable driving experience.

Have you seen the dual panel roof in the new SCrews? Really cool stuff.

I've had a sunroof in every vehicle I've owned, don't think I've opened the one on my 14 ford yet. Occasionally the shade is open. I like to have it because the headliner seems boring without it (dumb reason I know).

I dont have a sunroof on my lariat. I use my rear slider all the time.

Ive never had a sunroof but I think I would use it while cruising down the road.

The wife's Tahoe has a sunroof but I don't in my F150. We rarely use the one in our Tahoe because every time I try try to use it the wife complains that it's messing up her hair...

I usually buy my trucks used and focus on the drivetrain I want more than other features. If it has a sunroof, cool. If not, it's not a deal breaker for me.

I didn't have a sunroof on my '08 FX4 ... but I do have one on my 2014 FX4 ...

What I like BEST about is that I can slide the shade cover back and let extra light in the cab, and it's also nice at night when the sun isn't beating down on the truck.

Second best is the "vent" opening you can do with the sunroof ... great way to exhaust hot air (in conjunction with the rear slider) when it's really hot, and I'm trying to get the A/C cooling as fast as i can.

Lastly, I DO like to open the roof fully when the weather permits ... but this is rare. It has to be a nice cool day for me to do this, and typically it's when the wife is NOT with me (she has the "messing up my hair" issues too) ...

could I live w/out the sunroof? sure ... but it came as part of the 402A package or whatever it was when I got the truck, and I'm glad I do have it.

As said though, it's all personal preference. I've been lucky in that I've never had issues with a vehicle's sunroof ... so they don't scare me.

Exactly. Never ever have it opened with the family. Hair mess up, too breezy, too noisy. STFU sometimes eh.
