Default stx wheels modification

Anybody painted the gray inserts of their wheel spokes black like my photoshopped photo here? I wonder if there is a easy way to do it.

The 20" wheels are about the only thing I don't like on my truck. I wish I had the 18's. They look better IMO

how would that affect the painted portion? would it make it look charcoal or black? I've been tempted to try the duplicolor shadow chrome kit.

Those duplicolor kits are garbage, lots of terrible results on anything bigger than a hood emblem.

That's my worry. And I'm guessing I'd damage the paint if I tried to remove the duplicolor with paint thinner.
