Default Honest opinions...

So I want to upgrade the look of my truck. I have decided to go with the Bilstein 5100 ride height adjustable shocks for the front. After all the reasearch and the fact I can lower it in the winter when I plow is the only and best option I have found.

For the back, blocks or do the rear Bilstein shocks add height?

I really want rims and tires, but that is not in the budget right now, so I am just gonna do tires for now and I have decided to go with Goodyear 295-65-18 Duratrac's
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...95&ar=65&rd=18
This tire should give me over an inch more width per side than my stock tires without dropping an extra $1500 for rims. I am thinking this wheel spacer with stock wheels which shouldn't give me wheel shake headaches or payload issues and another 1/4 inch width. http://www.roughcountry.com/wheel-spacers-1065.html

This should give me well over an inch per side width gain with an aggressive look until I can afford wheels, or am I wasting my time and money?

I have drooled over the leveled pic thread for months now, but if anyone has pics with a similar setup I am looking to do, it would be awesome if you posted it!

Thanks in advance or opinions and pics!

The rear bilsteins do not add lift themselves. The front shocks will level your truck where if you add rear blocks you will keep near factory rake. As far as the wheel spacers are concerned, I wouldn't worry with them personally. 1/4" wouldn't be that noticeable anyways. IMO save your money

It will be a PITA to lower the shocks for winter and then raise them back up again in the spring. To change settings on the 5100s you need to remove the shocks, remove the coils from the shocks with a spring compressor, change settings reinstall coil with a spring compressor. reinstall shocks and get a front end alignment.

Fox, King and Icon coilovers do not have to be disassembled to change preload, that would also be an option although a little pricier.

Yeah for the cost of alignments and annoyance of rebuilding shocks twice a year you might want to look into adjustable coilovers. I have f150lifts coilover and love them. I have made adjustments to the height a few times no problem. Or as stated above fox, icon and king are a few other options.

I just assumed that's what he was talking about!

Also you asked for pictures of a similar setup so here's mine. Its somewhat similar to what you will end up with if you go to top notch of 5100's. It's the f150lifts coilovers at 3", on 295/70/17(33.3"x11.6" vs. yours 33.1"x11.6") falken rocky mtn. My wheels stick out farther than yours will at +6 offset on level 8 trackers though.

Keep in mind when adjusting the coilovers you will need an alignment everytime you touch them. Otherwise you run the risk of uneven wear of tires.
