Anyone in the Chicago area know of a dealer that is aware of this problem? I'm about 40miles southwest of Chicago

Just got the truck back with the new Evap., smell is gone!

Got a bit of glugging going on behind the dash on my short drive home. I assume some air got in the heater core. Will this noise stop?

I'd like to look into this further, flyingpostman. Please send me a private message with your full name, VIN, updated odometer reading, dealership information, and best daytime contact number.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Checking for leaks, flourescent dye gets you close. Electronic sniffers get you closer and then you confirm that with the good old soap bubbles. Just because that dye is present on these evaps. does not mean there is a leak.

How many of you have the Ford rubber floor mats in your trucks?? I left mine in the sun and it emits the exact same smell inside of the truck, at least for mine, I originally thought it was refrigerant, but only in hot conditions, and a/c still works.

That's a good point B. When I leave my truck out in the heat, it does have a strange smell to it. I haven't smelled anything like it before in an automobile and I've owned many. When the A/C smell first started I thought it had the odor of wires burning due to overload. And being in the service business for forty years I know that smell. We the consumers have no clue as to where these parts are coming from. This could very well be some kind of toxic plastic from some damned place in china.
