My 2014 fx2 also rides really rough, what are some aftermarket front/rear replacement shocks that you all would recommend? I don't want any that lift the truck, and not looking for off-road shocks, just want a Cadillac-smooth ride. Thanks.

I can feel every bump in my FX4, with 20" Pirelli's. As well.. after a small bump, the shake seems to resonate slightly through the truck (seat, steering wheel, etc) for the next second or so. This is all normal to me.

I put a modest level/lift on my 2014 FX4, and changed from P rated to E rated tires. That DID change my ride, making it a bit more "stiff" ... but by no means is it "rough" or "bad" ... the only person that ever comments is my wife, who doesnt ride in it all that much ... but her comparison is only to passenger vehicles, like her Expedition, which rides smooth as butter.

I admit that some of our roads are not all that great, and it can get pretty bumpy in my truck ... but that's the road's fault more than anything.

When I bought my first pickup, it took me a while to get use to the ride. I came from a Yukon XL which was pretty smooth (felt like one piece over the bumps). The difference being that pickup trucks don't have any "structure" in the back; basically just a frame with a box screwed on. This creates a lot of flexing and jittery reactions to bumps. Just the nature of the beast. But that being said, my 2014 is plenty smooth and soaks up bumps well.

Tough to say what exactly your problem is from behind the keyboard. However my addition of BOSS coilovers and rear shocks really changed the ride for the better. Much like HCFX2013 said with his Fox coils. Such a nice improvement.

I would go back to dealer and test drive another f150 like yours and see if there is really a difference. My fx4 drives great to me, but it's also a truck...
