If i wanted chinese parts i would have bought a toyota !!! Ford dropped the ball on this one
To be fair, Toyota is Japanese. There is a difference lol.

Domestic manufactures (as well as others) have outsourced parts for a very long time.

Same issue on my 2012 lariat crew 4x4. I bought the truck used and it started soon after. I've been to the dealership once and to another repair shop once and both have found nothing. Is the rack difficult to install?

I had my lower steering shaft replaced at 20k miles on my 2011 Screw 5.0 and here at 31k it is as bad as ever. It's just a poor design that Ford really isn't taking any responsibility for. I'd be fine if they just admitted it was junk and offer an extended warranty to cover any failure. I bought the ESP and still cannot get them to do anything about mine.

Hi GGlaser,

Have you had the chance to set up an appointment with your dealership? Please send a PM with your full name, best contact number, VIN, and dealership information; I'll loop in your regional customer service manager to help with that steering.

Thanks, but since the weather turned colder here I can't get it to duplicate the problem. Part of the issue is that it only happens when it's hot outside (75 or above). I am covered thru next summer so when it heats up again I will take it back again and ask for help if I need it.

Finally got my rack replaced. 2012 extended cab. They had already replaced steering shaft, didn't fix problem. Dropped the truck off yesterday and picked it back up 4 hours later.
And when mine would act up it would be when temp got down in the lower 40s and below.
Soo,hopefully this is put to bed.

I get what you're saying, GGLaser. Let me know when it starts doing this again; I'll be here.

Hi colormegreen,

Glad you got this concern knocked out and put to bed. Please give me a shout if you have further concerns once the temperatures start to drop.

I've had my truck in 8 different times for this and they keep saying it is normal. I'm a fairly patient person, but this is ridiculous. You spend 50+ grand on a truck and nobody is willing to fix it.

This is how you lose customers, I love the truck but the service and this concern suck. The new Tundra I drive by every day is almost going to be in my driveway.

This is also how you prevent from gaining customers, I'm in the market soon (have a 2013 now), but reading about the 2015 F150 issues has me looking at the other brands or thinking go backwards to 7.3L for awhile.
