I also have the same EPAS knocking problem with my 2014 5.0 since 300 miles (now 1500) as well as the AC stuck on floor vent. This new truck replaced my 2013 FX4 ecoboost that was plagued with transmission issues and finally a busted motor. I have an appointment with the dealer in 2 days and would appreciate a follow up Ford Customer Service asap.

Thanks

Hi Lambo13,

PM me your info and I'll get this into the hands of your regional customer service manager. Be sure to include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. Leave the rest to me.

Unfortunately you can't help the ignorant and impatient. The ford service reps are on here to pass the buck that is their job. You should be lucky they even try to help.

There have been lots of satisfies people who found the Ford reps on here really helped them out and were a big part of dealerships giving in and fixing issues that they try to deny.

Well…My local dealer test drove my new 2014, put it on the jack and ran tests on the EPAS. All systems function property with “some road media felt through steering column - normal.” With that said, this is the same dealer that gave me a hard time with my Ecoboost transmission and fuel dilution, so the verdict is not surprising. Long story short, I only have luck when going to a major volume dealer, one of which I personally know the Service Manager or the original dealer where I purchased the truck direct from the owner. When they want something fixed, it gets done; however they both work in another city about 30 minutes away. Ford knows the steering is crap, we all know the steering is crap, but they have the luxury of calling it normal because they have more lawyers then we do. Even the local dealer admits the steering is a nightmare and these trucks are “hit or miss”. Can you believe that! Regarding Crystal @ Customer Service, she personally helped with my last truck. I’m not sure how much she played a role, but my 2013 transmission was finally fixed and then broke again six months later which is why I now have a 2014, 5.0L. I guess I’ll take off ANOTHER day of work so my connection at the big dealer can deal with it.

Thanks, folks! There are always going to be situations where I can't help, but I'll do my darnedest to find ways to assist when it's within my ability to do so.

Latest update on my 2012 F-150 even though i feel like im wasting more of my time writing about this and nothing has got resolved ! Anyway to make a long story short , i am on my 3rd rack the last one was replaced a few months ago and the knocking /rattling feeling came back after not even 2000 miles , i contacted the dealership , brought the truck in and had the mechanic drive it . He felt the knock /rattle issue and they told me they were going to contact Ford to see what to do because going thru 3 racks just doesnt seem right they also told me they drove similar trucks and felt the same issue with the steering wheel . I finally called the dealership today and was pretty much told that Ford has deemed this an "Undesireable Characteristic " of the vehicle . So pretty much they are saying it is what it is and deal with it . Ill tell you this really pisses me off i pay big money for this truck and I WANT IT FIXED !!!

Default thats why i dont drive mine.

I bought a jeep and quit driving mine a year ago. Wife drives it and is more forgiving to design flaws.

I expect jeep quirks and after 5, f150s this 2012 has been the worst.

Hello guys, I'm just wondering whether or not I actually have the steering issue. My truck just have a slight feel as if there's a little play somewhere between the wheels and steering wheel (can't really get an exact feedback) when going over a speed bump or any other bump while turning.

I haven't had a chance to take it in, planning on doing it during the next oil change 3k km away.

Later,
Kevin
