Talked to the dealer today, they said they have never heard of this problem before in the 2013's. I just need to find time to bring it in. They probably won't be able to duplicate the issue. Im getting pretty upset with this whole situation...

Just curious, why? Did it fix it for you or are you just talking.

OP: Papa Tiger is talking trash. A lift WILL NOT in any way solve your EPAS problem. Go to page 113 of this thread and read my post. Replicating the steering knock was not necessary for my rack replacement. If your dealer pushes back, find another dealer. Ford is aware of the issues with the EPAS system, but they have not issued a TSB. Try contacting the FoMoCo rep on this forum. Best wishes. CV

To Papa Tiger: Brown is GOOD on military vehicles

Looking at your truck the suspension looks stock.. Is your truck 100 % stock in regards to your suspension (no level or lift kits). Not that it should matter but Ford will give you less grief if your truck is stock. I would reach out to the ford customer care rep for your area through the ford website or through one of the customer reps in this thread to get a case started. They are 100% aware of this issue and should have no problem throwing a new rack on your truck. The more people that go down this path the more chances of ford coming out with some sort of news on the POS racks that they are putting in their trucks.

I didn't say to install a lift kit. Put a floor jack under the frame and lift the truck 2 inches, see if the sound is gone/worse/easy to repeat. U can then watch to see where the noise is at. Rack movement etc ! I was interrupted earlier with text message . Sorry ! U may be able to locate the bind if so. It is possible the Epas mount is loose/bolts bent, or shaft movement, (anything)? ?

What a shame that it is still happening to customers who pay good money for Ford Trucks and Ford acts like they don't know what is going on. Well at least the dealerships act like that anyway which directly relates to Corporate ford not sending out any information on these types of issues to their dealers.

I'm on the same boat here, picked up a 2014 recently and have the same issue, did some reading and found out it's an issue Ford is aware of. Like stated above, just have to find the time to take it in.

You're taking a step in the right direction by bringing it into the dealer, Stryker13, and I suggest getting in touch with them to schedule an upcoming appointment as soon as you can. I'll get this escalated to a regional Customer Service Manager to further assist. Please send along your full name, VIN, current odometer reading, servicing dealer/appointment date, and best daytime contact number via private message. Once I receive that information, I'll get started.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Brittany
