Default Steering column lock

Is the steering column on an 2012 supposed to lock like the previous models.
Mine has not locked since day one, has Ford eliminated this feature?

It should lock. Maybe a trip to the dealer is in order.

Hi BEW119,

I checked out your truck's Owner's Manual but didn't see any specific reference to the locking steering column. I'd recommend bringing this up the next time you're at your dealer; they'll be able to confirm if your truck is equipped with that option and, if need be, perform a diagnosis from there. Let us know what you find out.

Checked with my dealer, newer F150's don't have the lock. Don't know why.

Well that's strange. I just took it for granted it locked, but never really checked. We learn something new every day.

My 12 has the lock, you have to turn the steering wheel after the key is out, Dodge is like that too.
