Default Spots on Gauge Cluster

I recently noticed a few spots on the glass of my gauge cluster, figured it was just some overspray from my Armor All or something. So I sprayed some Invisible Glass on my lint free cloth and wiped it and BOOM! Millions of Spots!! They look like hard water spots, but I don't know.

Anybody have any idea on how to get rid of them, because it is VERY unsightly and far from unnoticeable.

These pictures are NOT exaggerated, it is THAT bad.

Ouch. The cluster, and the screen over my radio/sync are two areas i hate to clean. The plastic is soooo soft. I would try distilled water on the softest cloth i had, on that gauge screen, but even then, i would be worried about marks and scratches.

Perhaps plexxus, if you have any around?

I'll give the distilled and clothe a shot. Never heard of Plexxus. I wonder if it's something my dealership will cover. I just bought the thing.

I had what looked like water spots on mine right after I bought it new. Nothing as bad as those pics though. If you're comfortable with it you can remove the cowling around the cluster by taking the two 7mm screws out that are in the top, then the whole surround pops out and you can clean the gauge cluster plastic more easily.

I used a soft cloth and citrus cleaner (goo gone) and got the majority of mine clear.

That may be my way to go. I'm just curious as to why it would do this in the first place. I've never had any problems using Invisible Glass

Try Novus 7020 Acrylic Clean & Shine, should do the trick.

probably ammonia reacting to the plastic. i only use a chamois to lightly wipe off . never use Amour All on anything, Turtle Wax Ice is the best i have found to wipe of plastic and i only put it on a rag never spray for that very reason, goes where you do no want it. i am so **** i wouldn't let dealer clean my truck, they scratch inside and outside. the only thing the clean up boy did was pull the sticky plastic off the carpet. when i cleaned the truck when i got home, found it wadded up under the seats.

This is what I try as well. We use it in the aircraft maintenance industry with good results. Airplanes have lots of plastic window panes (inner panes).

Good luck!

So distilled vinegar and distilled water didn't work. I have a buddy who's an aircraft tech that is gonna grab a bottle of the acrylic cleaner for me. Anybody got any other remedies I can try in the mean time?
