Special "state" edition F150's

I'm pretty sure the Ford Texas Edition only comes with that badge. The chrome is part of a chrome package and has nothing to do with the Texas Edition. Unlike the Chevy trucks that come with bigger engines, rims, running boards, etc. I would have preferred *something* more than just a badge though.

I have a 2010 that says "Texas Edition" on the sticker but doesn't have badges or anything like that.
I know Toyota makes an "Oklahoma Edition" Tundra. Being a proud Texas boy, that just makes me laugh. Similar to every time I cross the Red River and see the Oklahoma "Discover Excellence" sign.

I worked at GM from 1996-2007. We built the Silverado, Sierra and Denali. Only once I saw the Texas special editions. We built them for three months and then never again (2006). There's definitely several changes within the truck. We had to give it a completely different wiring harness etc. From memory, I recall the radiator was huge compared to the normal builds and I'm not 100% sure on this but I think they got quad steering and multiple transfer case coolers etc? Its been a long time so dont quote me!

It is more of a marketing thing than added options thing. However being from the state that has the editions may be kind of cool for some. I have seen several editions. Can't remember Ford, Chevy, Dodge, or Toyota had a Texas/Oklahoma package. I guess that was for the people that lived close to the Red River, or that migrated from one state to the other. Ford, and Chevy do still have Oklahoma Editions as well. I don't know that it is a "dealership" thing as much as an Oklahoma Ford Dealers Association thing. Just one little thing that can help sell a truck.
