2014 STX headlight mod
Finally pulled the trigger on baking my 2014 stx headlights turned out perfect, baked them one at a time at 250 degrees for 10 mins. Seperated the housing from the lenses, then unscrewed the chrome bezel from the housing, taped up the blinker pocket in the bezel and wiped the bezel down with alcohol (did not sand) due to the fact the bezel will not be exposed to the elements, pained the bezels and re married the parts with black silicone and ratchet strapped them both down on my table. Thanks for looking

That's pretty awesome. I don't have the ***** to do this to my stock headlights without having a backup set handy. Maybe I could pick up a backup set on the cheap. No one buys chrome headlights.
Got any pics of them tied down with the ratchet straps?
Nice work!

Sweatmachine No sorry I thought I took a pic but it didn't save, just placed them on my table lenses up, and ran 2 ratchet straps across the top of them and around the table and ratcheted them underneath the table to keep good pressure on them. I was very nervous at first hearing the horror stories about people melting their lights and some saying they don't come apart. But I baked them at 250, for 10 mins even, and
Worked the seal slowly all the way around with a flat blade screwdriver and as soon as the compound cooled and the screwdriver wouldn't go into it easily I just reheated them for 5 mins to soften it back up, and
Repeated this step to remove the access before putting them back together and to reshape the plastic to make it cleaner in the end, it's not hard just time consuming and take your time
