Default Someone Please Help Me! Rattle noise

Hey guys, Ive had this rattle in the front passenger side of my truck when ever i hit man hole covers or uneven pavement (only when the impact is on the passenger side though) for a long time now but lately it seems to be getting worse. At first i thought it was just my fog lights installed in the bumper that were loose, Then i thought it could be my wheel well liner or my mud flap but i secured those up and its still going on.

About 6 Months ago when rotating my tires i found my outer tie rod was loose so i took it to ford and they replaced it under warranted. I thought my Problem was over. I Was Wrong... Still had a rattle.

SO after doing some research on here and other forums i started to think it could be my sway bar could be loose or something along those lines. So this morning i jacked my truck up got under there and started poking around. The bar didnt seem loose at either end but the ends of them seem to be angled...(i dont know if that matters) i took some pics im going to try and post.

Im at a dead end fellas and i dont know where else to turn. If someone could give me some input or even just point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.

SO to sum it up
- its a passenger side rattle when going down dirt roads of over man hole covers or uneven surfaces mainly under 40mph (i dont hear it at highway speed)

- Ive checked all my ball joints when rotating my tires.

-My Steering is as soild as the day i got the truck, i dont feel anything in my steering wheel at anytime.

- Some times when really bad i can feel it a little in the floor under my feet

- The sound doesnt really sound like metal on metal (thats why i thought it could be my wheel well liner)

- I do have Rancho Quick lift struts on the front that have an adjustment **** that seized from corrosion.

- The sounds seems to get worse as the weather changes

- Ford also inspected the front end when they did the oil change and they said everything looked ok but i dont know how much they actually checked as they didnt charge me for it...

- there is also a rci basic skid plate on the truck but it seems tight as hell

If anyone has any questions please ask. i tried to be as detailed as i could but i might have missed something. Thank you for your time guys!

"I do have Rancho Quick lift struts on the front that have an adjustment **** that seized from corrosion. " This is what I would look at changing out if possible. If the **** is seized up just image what is going on inside the strut.

I had an issue on my DD Nissan Altima that almost every bump i'd go over I heard an audible noise from the front end. Turned out to be the struts. I don't know what kind of warranty you have with the Rancho's but a seized up **** is a big tell that moisture has entered the strut.

I have a set of fox 2.0 shocks waiting to go in im just trying to postpone it until after the winter so all this salt in NY doesnt destroy them.

Also i wasn't sure if the shocks could make that kind of noise. I hope you're right. Thanks for the input

I have Fox 2.0s on my 14, I have the same kind of rattle over lower-ish speed bumps but not on the highway.

I'm going to get it on my buddies lift and have a look see soon hopefully.

Hello - i just bought a brand new 2016 F-150 XLT, I'm having the exact same issue. I have had my truck for less than a month and it's been at the shop more than I drove it. Most of my miles are to/from the Dealership. I just got it back to day and they said it's "within spec" and there isn't anything they can do. They replaced a strut a couple weeks ago. Any advice?

Mine only does it when its cold out ~30degF or less and I'm on a rough road. Weird, but it doesn't seem to affect anything.

My 2015 does this too, with Fox 2.0's and it seems to come from the driver's side. It seems like it's own when the bumps cause the truck to rock side to side. I'm wondering if it's not the inner tie rod end or CV axle.

I may be totally off the mark here. I bought a 2013 F150 last week. Didn't hear any noise on test drive. A couple days later I heard a rattle to the right side. I did some investigating and determined it was not suspension related. What I ended up finding was that it was the owners manual in the glove box. I had taken the book out and when I put it back in I put it on top of something else and it was rattling. I re-arranged the items in the glove box and the rattle noise is gone.
