Good idea. I particularly like the fact that they sit half way under your truck AND are made of the most slippery substance known to man.

Raptor running boards are nice, wide, and have room for a foot.

No kidding hey, I'm still debating just ditching them completely. Maybe amps. But this will do the trick for now.

After my little kick in the *** I figured now would be a good time.

So heres my solution. I taped off my APP package running boards so that only the raised bumps were exposed. Then grabbed the can of clear slip doctor anti slip coating used for bathtubs steps etc. (used on our boat worked great) and sprayed away. Let dry. Bingo, couldn't even slip if I tried now. Don't know why I didn't think of this before but man it worked awesome. Im sure any clear antislip bathtub coating would do the trick, just had a can of slip doctor already. Best part is you can't see it at all, looks like nothing was applied.

Hope this saves a few guys out there, I know I've heard plenty comments from others on them being dangerous at times.
THIS. IS. BRILLIANT.
I actually recently (Oct) slipped off my side step on my XTR screw and fractured 2 metatarsels in my left foot. Still in a cast. Gotta wait for the snow to go away before I do this tho. It's ugly as **** out here.

One of the things I like the best about my Amp Power Step is they do not get full of snow and ice tucked under the truck. We've had some nasty weather lately and the steps have stayed ice and snow free no matter what the conditions. How they hold up over time… (wear and tear) who knows!

On my 06 I had the Ford steps and had the same thing happen to me one dark night. Upside down on my freaken back on a black top parking lot… OUCH!! No serious damage but was sore for a few days. Just lucky cause it could have been really serious if one hit their head going down!

If someone is going to install running boards the Amps are really sweet…. also a very cool option but they are a bit pricey!!

Great idea on making the other type RB's much safer…………

Yikes that sounds nasty, did you get your foot caught in between the boards and the truck to do that sort of damage?

Broken tailbone is brutal, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. That and a pair of bruised heals.

They are sweet but like you said the price tag matches! This spring I'm gonna just pull off the running boards and see how I like it.

I've ate it before too sliding on those running boards. Smack on my *** it pretty much took the breath out of me. Left a nice gouge in my kick panel paint too from my jeans.
