Don't get all excited about Toyota until you spend some time on the Toyota forums. They have their problems and can be just as Bucky about fixing them. 8 years with my Tacoma and it was no better or worse than my 92 Ranger. I had three rear wheel seals and one rear wheel bearing replaced on the Tacoma under warranty, and a forth wheel seal and second bearing I replaced at 110K miles. Replacement Timken bearing $165 plus the inner seal and bearing spacer. One front wheel bearing, so much of a problem on the 4x4's and Prerunners that two forum members are building and selling the hubs, $275 for the Prerunner. One U-joint replaced slightly before 60K miles, rear springs replaced under a TSB because the original ones couldn't handle 400 lbs with out bottoming out, a recall on the rear springs because they have broken and could rupture the fuel tank, a problem with rust through on the gen II frames leading to inspections, corrosion protection spray or frame replacement for vehicles in certain cold weather states like IL, MN, WI but not IA where I live. I could go on but I think you get the point.

Mine as well. Was only 73 outside this day but humidity was 100%. Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqZuXKRWfbY I have to turn the fan down most days and sometimes even have to adjust the temp **** to keep from freezing.

Toyota would've been my next choice. But the Tacoma does not have much room and the fuel economy isn't what it should be in that size truck. And the look (and build) of the Tundra is just not my favorite although the new ones are growing on me.
But I can say I've put 40k miles on my 2011 (70k on odometer) and they've been nearly trouble free and a joy. Fixed slip yoke bump and replaced a busted EVAP canister.

I love my F150, but man I tell ya everytime I see the new GM's I think wow, wished I would of went with a Z71. Before you guys bash them, I've owned 3 Z71's and don't have any complaints.

I know the engines changed in '11 but the basic truck has been around since '09...it seems like the bugs with the AC and the rattles should be eliminated by now. Maybe it's Ford's way of getting us to trade in on the '15's. I use to be a Chevy guy but in the early 80's they had so many problems I came over to Ford...hope the Blue Oval isn't going in that direction...meaning Quality Control. Ford has no problems selling the truck's that's for sure!!

To start off I have owned many Fords. My current 2013 F-150, 2-2003 F-150s, 2007 Ranger, 1989 Mustang, 1991 Mustang, 2002 Taurus, 2006 Mazda Tribute(same as a escape). Out of the 7 other vehicles totaling almost 500K miles, my current 2013 F-150 with only 30K miles has been back to Ford it seams like once a month, ALL the others combine NEVER needed to go back to Ford! I'm Ford loyal and this is making me regret my purchase. It has been in for flaking paint on upper bumper pad, door keypad lights stopped working, rattles in the doors 3 times, drive shaft spline bump 4 time, yes I said FOUR and my A/C isn't as cold as it should be.
Yesterday I dropped the truck off to have the A/C looked at and the drivetrain bump fixed again. Today they called me to say the tech didn't feel the bump and he also got 42* temps coming out of the vent using MY temp probe I keep in the vent. That's BULL ****! I have had that temp gauge in that same vent for OVER a year and it has NEVER gotten colder than 48-49*, EVER regardless what the temp is outside! Yet he says he got it to 42* in the hour 2 hours he looked at it, that's a damn lie! He also reports that he doesn't feel the bumper. Well I have had the DS greased twice and the entire DS replaced once, I think I know what it feels like.
I told them the rental, Black 2014 Chevy POS froze me out on the 6 mile trip to the dealer. I can drive my Silver F-150 over a hour and it's still doesn't get that cold. The service manager said its within spec and the IDS showed that the EVAP temp prove was at 38* the entire time *coughBScough*.
Me and 3 friends bought trucks around the same time all 2013, A Loaded FX2, Platinum, King Ranch, and a Lariat . Everyone of our trucks has been in for warranty work more than once.
Although it's minor stuff it's still something that just aggravates me, so much it's pissing me off.
What else can I do?!?!

As far as the A/C goes, this being my first Ford and first crew cab, I just figured the massive interior volume and lack of rear vents was to blame in my XLT. Now, the air coming from my vents gets fairly cold and causes condensation to build up on the vents but the overall temp just doesn't cool off like my Z-71 (ext cab w/rear vents in console). I have found that running Max A/C with the front windows and rear slider open for the first 1/2 to 1 mile really helps to evacuate the heat and help with the cooling process. Should I have to do this just to get some kind of cooling effect? No, but the more I hear about the A/C problems in these trucks, the more I'm beginning to believe I'm dealing with the same problem. I might check the charge on the system this weekend and see what I find. Might be a little low on freon.
