The Drifter
I know the feeling
I have three fords in the driveway now but this 2014 has made me start looking this truck has the worst AC I have ever had and ford told me it is actually out performing its specs it has 44 degree at vent . I work with NCDOT and the Chevrolets are at 37 vent temp in under a mile down the road .

Hey Ford, your customers HAVE changed. We are not like my next door neighbor where I grew up. For him, it was Ford only. Here's what's happened:
1. Sears
2. Penneys
3. K Mart
4. Walmart
5. McDonald's
6. etc. (will Ford be on the list?)
Yes, even Walmart is on that list of companies that are going down. It's a generational thing happening in America. People are not very brand loyal, unless the brand is known for QUALITY!! I'm glad to see so many here willing to change from F150 in a NYC second when they perceive another brand might be better quality. Me too. The a/c on my '02 is not good either. I've been an F150 truck boy, but I WILL check out the other makes too. Reliability, that's what will sell trucks to this generation. Look at Toyota's success - it's all because of one reason - RELIABILITY. I'm not talking about Tundra, but Toyota in general, Camry, etc. with about bullet proof reliability.
We want trucks that work. Every part of them. Things will break, we can live with that, but we cannot endure repetitive failures and Ford not taking care of its trucks...
I hope my next truck will be F150... but I cannot promise it will be.

As long as Ford is selling cars/trucks, they don't care. I'm curious why in 7 pages of this thread, a Ford Rep hasn't attempted to help the OP out..?
I simply don't think there's a fix for this AC system, without major component replacements = $$$.

Maybe the amount of people with bad a/c's is very miniscule compared to systems that work great (I'm in that group).
If Ford gets enough complaints they will try to find a solution, but if they sell 100,000 trucks a month (just a number) and only 100 of them have an issue the chances are slim they will do anything.
The best thing to do is wait until summer on a very hot day to test drive and purchase, at least that way you will know ahead of time if you are buying (or not) a hot box on wheels.

I'm curious why some of us have trucks the a/c freezes you out? There has got to be some sort of something not right but what?

Not sure why that's the case. This is the Internet, and as we know, most people that don't have a problem, are not posting. This issue seems to be valid enough that Ford would consider a fix for there customers in the hot/humid areas of the South.
This type thread comes up enough on here and other sites. There are even a couple diy fixes out for it.

x2 Rnlcomp no issues with my '13 getting chilly even with Max AC off and on level 3. May not be subzero temps that some are expecting but enough in this 100% humidity LA weather. Z7What have you tried the DIY fix on this forum? Wrapping the AC tubing in insulation under the hood?

Sure did over a year ago. Which helped. Really think that the next time I bring it in I'm going to remove it just to make it worse.

Think I will wrap those lines on my truck, might produce ice cubes.
