I was wondering today if my new truck could be siphoned from? It has that no cap thing going on. What do you guys know about this?

So placing a regular cap would prevent siphoning? Or because there is no cap it would be much easier to siphon because of 1 less step (remove cap)? lol

As long as it takes to fill a 36 gallon tank, I could'nt imagine how long it would take to syphon one! lol

When I traded in my 08 I had no plan of getting my 2010, stopped by dealer "just to look around". I had just filled tank up and had no intention of giving them free gas. I could pick up my new truck next day so I went home to siphon out most of gas and for the life of me I could not get it to go.
Is there something in the filler tube that prevents this anyway? I tried for over an hour but no gas, dealer got 7/8 of a tank.

They just punch a hole in underneath the plastic gas tank and drain it that way. Siphoning is outdated.

+1 on the locking fuel plug. As for thieves punching the tank, there are aftermarket skid plates just for preventing this from happening, as well as keeping rocks and other stuff from hitting the tank while off-road.

Risk of siphoning would actually be less with no cap at all as the capless system requires that the hose would have to be exactly the right size to hit the releases on both sides to open the flap. With a cap system you just unscrew it and use any size hose you want. But yea, anyone who really wants your gas would just puncture the tank most likely.

Just for clarity ... do you not have a gas cap on it? If not, why not buy one? It would be cheaper than replacing the gas that you are concerned about losing? Just wondering thats all.

U can't push it in with siphon anyways, he'll a regular gas can can't even do it. That's why they stick that plastic nozzle in storage under the back seat
