So if I purchased Ford OEM tow mirrors with puddle lights, will I need to take it to ford for reprogramming?

My understanding is that the smart juntion box has to enable the puddle light function. Im going to the dealer tomorrow for an oil change and they are going to enable the puddle light function in the SJB. I'll post the results tomorrow.

Installed the mirrors yesterday and the puddle lights do in fact work without any type of programming. I will post pictures of everything done yesterday as soon as I can.

Well I went to my dealer to have the SJB reprogrammed to enable the puddle lights. The dealer was reluctant to do so till he contacted Ford. Ford advised him that they do not support this modification. Not saying that it can't be done but Ford wont approve the programming, and the dealer will not do it due to warranty implications. So looks like my only alternative is to bring power from the dome light directly to the puddle light.

I'm surprised my Lariat doesn't have the puddle lights, how much does it cost to purchase the lights.

Do you need to get the smart junction box programmed to make the turn signal light indicators work?

Hey guys...new to this forum but am curious in adding the blinkers/puddle lights into the mirrors. If someone can please assist in what wires in the harness that we need to tap into as well as part numbers etc and post a "How To" we would all be grateful.

Great forum!
