I have a 2013 F150 EcoBoost Screw FX4. On initial movement from a stop there is a slight shudder at around 1500/1800 RPM's. When I mentioned it to the dealership they couldn't seem to find what I was talking about. Well a year has passed and it's still there. Through this forum Crystal contacted the Ford area customer service representative (Steve) who placed a call to my dealership. Funny thing their now interested in solving the problem. I took the truck into the dealership and took the service manager for a ride showing him exactly what I was talking about, that was on 2/11/14. He seems to have forgotten about me until I sent him and the owner of the dealership a email asking where we were with the issue. I spoke with the service manager yesterday and he said there is nothing that Ford has identified that would cause this shudder but they would like my truck for a couple of days so their "master mechanic" could look into the problem.

Do any of you out there know what the remedy for this problem is and are any of you aware of anything Ford has issued as a service bulletin addressing this problem?

Does this shudder feel like running over rumble strips on the highway? Mine feels like that on takeoff and stopping under 20mph. I think the "fix" is greasing the slip yoke on the driveshaft. Seems to be pretty common on the 157" wheelbase trucks (Screw 6.5ft bed)

It's a very subtle shudder that only happens between 1500/1800 rpm's and only in first gear. I also have the 6.5 ft bed in my Screw.

There have been quite a few threads on the subject, with several different causes contributing to the shudder. Put "shudder", and as some spelled it "shutter" in to the search. You'll get a ton on info that might help. Good luck.

Ford has finally eliminated the slight shudder I was feeling between 1500/1800 rpms (see post above dated 2/25/14). The dealer eliminated it by shimming the 2-piece drive shaft support bearing slightly and changing the angle of the drive shaft to pinion yoke. Apparently they spent some time with Ford Tech Support in solving the problem which evidently only appears in the 6-1/2 and 8' bed trucks with the 2-piece drive shafts.
