I agree with your assessment of the connections that you list, that's what it looks like to me from the diagram. The blue wire is the output from the common terminal of the switch, which feeds the power to trigger the relay, which actually controls the lights. In the upper position, the red wire is connected to the blue wire, sending constant power to the relay and turning on the lights full time. In the center position, the blue wire is connected to nothing, and the lights are off all the time. In the lower position, the blue wire is connected to the white wire, and the lights are on whenever the truck is in reverse, and otherwise off. You could accomplish this using a standard non-illuminated SPDT center off switch by making the same connections: center goes to the relay, top is unswitched power, and bottom is reverse lights power. You could also do it with a center off DPDT switch, you would just be using half of the switch and ignoring the other side. (A center off DPDT is more common than an SPDT version, so may be easier to find and might be cheaper.) You could also do it with an illuminated switch the has separate contacts for the light by jumping from the blue wire (relay output) to the power input of the light, and connecting the other side if the light to ground.
The uncertainty comes up with the indicator LED and that black ground wire. It appears that the LED connected is between the two center terminals: it gets power from contact 1b, and ground from 2b. 1b is also the trigger signal that goes to the relay for the lights, so the LED is on whenever the lights are on. (eg: if the switch is in backup light mode, it will light up when the truck is in reverse.) Intuitively that makes sense. The question is what are the other two terminals, 2a and 2c? Are they the remaining set of contacts for another double throw pole, and the LED is connected between the two common terminals? Or are they something else?

Holy hell, can I just borrow you for the afternoon?
Freakin wealth of info. Next time I'm screwing with wiring harnesses, imma give you a holler if you don't mind.

Nice wheels frank! I get my lift next month but I'm having a hard time deciding on wheels. I know I'm going 20x9 but I don't know whether I should go with xd or fuel... I heard that fuel wheels are lighter than XD and stronger. Diggin your rig man! Congrats!

Thanks guys appreciate the compliments. I'm super happy how it turned out. I went with 20x10 with a -12 offset to get a little bit more lip on the wheel. I'm 100% satisfied with my choice. My months of research payed off lol

Do you have a straight on shot from the front or behind to see how much the wheels stick out? Truck looks great BTW.
