Simple answer, NO. Would you sell something to someone where you come out behind? If you like fights deductibles and hassle, go for it.

Id rather have a warranty and not need it than need a warranty and not have one.

I bought a 5/75 for $1500 when i bought mine. There definately cheaper out there on the Internet. Depends on the options u have. Nav system that controls the hvac n stuff is like 10k to replace supposedly. Backup cam or remote start is prob an easy 500-1000. Then theres heated seats, traction control, sensors, drivetrain. U could spend an easy $1k on a trip to the dealer without a ext warranty. My dealer told me if i sold the truck before the factory 36k was up, i could sign over the warranty to buyer OR FORD WILL REIMBURSE ME THE PAID AMT for the unused ext warranty

I just traded my 2011 last week for a new 2014, this time I bought a premium care 7/125,000 warranty. My 2011 was outside the bumper to bumper warranty And about a thousand miles from losing the powertrain warranty. About 3 weeks ago the blend door actuator on the driver side went out and it is only blowing cold air. To fix this the entire dash has to come out. Part was gonna be $21.00 and labor was gonna be almost $1100.00. I was wishing I had bought the Esp. The good part was it was a good excuse to trade.
Got a good deal on a 2014 lariat and the dealer matched flood ford's price on a premium care Esp. Now I dont have to worry about repair cost for 7/125,000. (Peace of mind)

I went this way as well. Peace of mind for 7 years. My truck is pretty loaded up with options so I figured it was the way to go.

I purchased the ESP 8 year/100,000 mile plan with a $50 deductable for $650 at the time of purchase, it is a sweet inexpensive insurance policy for my truck.
