Default service rant.

I recently had my truck in for its oil change and i have the prepaid maintaince package. my front brakes were at 4mm last service and as a result of looseing trailer brakes on my way up from Calgary to fort McMurray i chewed through my front brakes, rears are barley working from what i can tell, they were replaced at last service. well after everything was said and done, ford does not want to replace my pads and rotors, saying the calipers siezed causing the fronts to fail. this is pure bs, i took the drivers side off and noticed there was still dirt and what not all over the caliper assembly, after cleaning it up i took the pads of, or whats left haha. the pistons slid in just fine with the help of a c-clamp, no harder than any other vehicle i have done brakes on. passenger side still had the factory tamper paint on the bolts, same thing dirty as well. so can someone explain to me how you can write off a set of calipers without even taking them off the truck?

You live in Fort Mac..... and like me it's a community driven by fleet sales and service. You think they honestly give a damn about you and your concerns lol. I mean where are you going to go? Drive half a day to Edmonton....

It's really easy to write them off......They probably didn't even look at the truck... and fed you some bs to get rid of you so they can bring in the lot full of fleet rigs needing repairs that some nameless faceless company pays for.

It's not right but it's the mentality here. I tried twice having my factory warranty voided in lieu for another discount on initial sale........ but the dealers just won't bite..... lol.

Lube the pins, throw in new pads and rotors and be good to go. You will do better than the TFW they have in the service department anyway.

i went back in today, after posting on a local fb page, service manager had seen it and he agreed to redo the inspection and do my pads and rotors, kudos to him there but i still shouldn't had to do that.

Hes going back on his word because what he says doesnt make sense. Ford doesnt just warranty pads, but if your caliper fails (sticks, breaks or leaks) then they will cover the pads under warranty and if im correct, which i dont know that i am on this part, pads are covered under the prepaid maintenance as long as they are under 3MM. How many miles are on the truck

no, i had a chat with the service manager, threatened to take front end apart right in front of the service drive through to prove that my calipers were fine he admitted that he seen my post on fb and agreed that i did not need to tear my front end apart. , he got the truck in priority, guesd what, calipers were fine, pads were right down to steel. all was replaced under my maintenance plan.
