Default Puddle lights

As anyone put puddle lights on there 2011 f150 that doesn't have them. Guess what I'm asking is are they wired already so you can just plug them in?

You have to tie into wires inside door / yes the mirrors have to be removed to feed wire correctly.

I put tow mirrors on my 2011 with puddle lights and originally the truck did not have them. They worked with the tow mirrors no problem.

Default Puddle lights

I have a 2013 Lariat with tow mirrors without puddle lights. I am going to add them. Which wires did you use?

There is a wire that comes from the cab side of the door panel into the connector for the mirrors, a purple wire. Easiest to identify is find the purple wire, probe it with a voltmeter, and as the lights on the inside dim, so does the voltage. Cut that baby and splice a wire that you have run through the housing to the positive side of the puddle light, and then ground the puddle light off the LED turn signal portion of your existing mirror. And viola. Takes about an hour and a half per side if your doing it carefully. Look into doing the LED upgrade to it as well as I did, looks phenomenal at night.

Thanks,
I'm looking for the best option for LED puddle lights. It will be a while before I can get to them (winter?) because the "honey do" list is pretty long right now.

It's just a festoon style light bulb with your flavor of style. I used a 12 led one so they are bright. And the lens is the cover, buy em from ford or tasca, like 20$ each.
