Service engine soon light....
Well 4200 +/- miles and I get my first service engine soon light 
.
so the manual states this:
driving. No additional vehicle service is required
I was low on gas, 78 miles to empty, there was about 1" of snow on the the road. so I guess it could have got something wet since there really is nothing in the front wheel well to keep the slop off the motor. I hope that is not the case or I will be seeing this light often...
So waiting to see if it will take care of itself. Ran a Sync test and it didn't really tell me much other than you may have a service engine soon light iluminated on your dash, Duh!! you would think it would be able to tell you why that light was on....

Had that issue this weekend. I hit a puddle going to fast and water went over the hood. I was going down a dirt road so I had to punch it to keep from sticking. 4x4hi quick press of the traction button and lots of gas. I was going fine until I hit a little dip and then the engine hesitated then engine light and little wrench poped up. Plus would not let me go over 3k rpm and 30 mph once I got to pavement. Waited 15 mins while pooring down rain then drove around a parking lot for 10 min coming to a stopp accelerating to 60 then stopping....... in about 10 min it straighntend up fine..... I think these computers have a kill switch for water somewhere to prevent hydro locking...... and or my electrical system got wet and threw a code. Hope this helps

Yeah - I wasn't sure if the SES light would come on if you needed an oil change. The manual doesn't say it will, but not everything's in the manual. Now we know it won't.
If you have a friend that has a scanner, he could pull the codes. Or simply take it to the dealer and have them look at it.
As I think about it, you might want to take it to the dealer just to document the problem (in case it does keep happening).

If you have a friend that has a scanner, he could pull the codes. Or simply take it to the dealer and have them look at it.
As I think about it, you might want to take it to the dealer just to document the problem (in case it does keep happening).

it reset itself after the 3rd cold start..... But will get the code pulled suprised SNC cannot do that. Not sure I have a OLM.... but I changed the oil at 3,700 miles....

So took it in and there were a few codes.... reverse sensors, compass, and CPS(camshft positon sensor)..... so the tech runs a plethera of test per Ford to satisfy getting a new part. all the test come out good they reset the system and tell me all is ok probably just a loose connection..... So I laugh and say I'll be back... sure enough before I even get home the light is back on..... So I go back and have them check again and let them know I'm not real happy I have to come back. So same cycle starts again.... long story short, they think it is the CPS and had to order one. So I get to go back again..... They did replace the compass module, although it looks different now, so that will be replaced again..... begining to think I did a good thing getting ESP........
