I'm tired of people bitching about what loaner car they get. Be grateful you even get a loaner vehicle, most dealerships don't even offer a loaner service as the liability is huge.

We get a cab voucher to anywhere within the city, I live 20 minutes outside of the city with no other vehicle to drive while mine is in for service. Good grief.

I got focus rental the other day. Just reminds me of how much I enjoy driving my pickup.
Wow is that thing small!

Be thankful you get ANYTHING to drive. most dealers around here say TFB- you're on your own. Also, the OP should be happy that ford is trying to fix a noise at all- my experience is they wait until there is a hole in the engine, then tell you "oops!- you're out of warranty"!

I have to trailer my truck to drop it anywhere. Loaners here are unheard of.... If my work F150 goes down... i get to rent a truck, use one of my personal ones or take time off work... that's it. My work truck is a rolling tool box... not just transportation. I used to get loaners from a small town gm dealer a few years back but I think they stopped doing that as well. Ford dealers are no help whatsoever.

I have my non work fx4 booked for a/c issues and the woman asked me right away how I was getting home as they would not help me with that.... i never mentioned anything about that. Talk about stellar customer service!

hey kid, cant you get your dad to loan you his truck since your living at his house anyway?

the rest of us have children, dogs, jobs, activity, etc.. you know, lives that actually involve the necessity of a large vehicle. being stuck in a small car is simply not an option.

my truck is going to be down for at least 2-3 weeks & not just a few days. even though it is warranty work, its not free. im still going to have to shell out over 300 bucks just to get a vehicle that works for my needs.

My dealer has loaner vehicles. Pickup trucks, full size, mid and compact cars. They even have Lincolns and an electric Focus! There are always loaners on the lot ready to go. That's a rarity these days.

I have kids, dogs, a job and things to do and I agree with the 'kid'. Consider yourself lucky that you got a loaner, around here most dealers don't have them available...trust me, it is a far bigger PITA not having a vehicle than having one that is not convenient...your warranty work is costing you nothing, your decision that you 'need' a larger loaner is costing you $300.

I am just curious what you do for a living that requires a large vehicle? I am not trying to pick a fight with you so please do not take it that way as you got more than defensive with this comment quoted above. I personally have never even been offered a loaner with any warranty work ever in my life and I have owned vehicles from pretty much every major manufacturer. I made due with what I had and who I knew to help me out. Right now your original post and the one above screams of entitlement.

I think you missed my point completely. How would you like it if you got a cab voucher like the rest of us? I'm sure you'd be pissed off because you'd have no vehicle at all while your truck is in the shop. Nothing to haul your kids, dogs, activities. Would a focus suffice instead of a cab? I think it would. I can tell you, working within the Ford dealership network, dealer-sourced loaners are a massive expensive and an even more ridiculous liability. So 85% of dealers either outsourced to a rental company that charges the customer $40 a day regardless of warranty, or they got rid of loaners altogether.

I may be younger than you, but I still have obligations limited by the absence of a vehicle, particularly my truck. And no, I didn't have another vehicle to drive. I was on my own!
