Just got my SCT X4 tuner with 5 star customs tunes through stage 3 today. I loaded the 93 octane performance/tow tune and change my tire size to account for my duratrecs.

I have not had a chance to get on the highway and open it up just yet but throttle response is amazing compared to stock and I feel like my butt dyno can feel some addional power. I did turn off advance track on a side road and from a stop left a couple nice tire patches...pretty impressive considering the duretrecs have less than 200 miles on them, although as much as tires cost I don't see many more burnouts in the future...

The truck does hold gears much longer and even at normal driving speeds does not shift to 5th and 6th nearly as quick as stock, that may take getting used to but considering its a tow tune it makes sense

So far so good, I am feeling happy about the investment in the tuner.

Been considering getting one of them.. but I have read that it doesn't work on a 2013 5.0 can anyone tell me if that is true

Didn't notice my signature here? LOL Yes it works on a 2013 5.0. I have 6 custom tunes on my sctx4.

I'd like to know what meat head told you it wouldn't work.

Lol.. I cant remember. . But thanks for letting me know. . Does it come with tunes on it or do you have to pay for the tunes separately

When you buy from Stage3Motorsports.com, you pick 5 custom tunes that they will load onto it. Go to their website. Lays out the entire process. Very easy. You can also buy the tuner alone, but you'll basically be paying the same, if not more money to get tunes from someone.




I am with @Rnlcomp, favorite mod to my truck next to the exhaust.
