Default Safety concern

My girlfriend just told me this morning about what her ex husband mentioned about my 37s and 20" aftermarket wheels aren't safe on my f150 platinum. He told her the boys are never ride in my truck and it's not safe! He said if I hit pot hole it will break the tie rods. He's expert mechanic and obviously knowing more than I do. He's also chevy guy lol. I need advice from expert mechanics to share your thoughts and maybe recommend to buy stronger like heavy duty tie rods? I don't know. I just want to make sure my truck is safe and know he told the truth. Thanks

Your girlfriends ex is full of chit. Sounds like he is jealous to me. If you don't stop this chit now...It will only get worse, if you are serious about her and are going to have a life with her. nip it in the bud now.

I would love to get dispatched to this domestic dispute.

"Officer, my kids are not safe riding in this lifted truck, it could break if he hits a pot hole"

Um, that's definitely a new one and please let me know what the judge says when you take that one to custody court, have a good day sir. lol

Anyone "could" break a tie rod hitting a pothole, your larger tires aren't adding to that.
Now had he said you can't stop as fast because of your tires then I'd agree lol

Lol, that could be jealousy. He is pain in the ***. I can't lie how expert and great mechanic he is though. He can rebuild the transmission. He knows everything about trucks and cars. But yeah it's kinda crazy to me how he mentioned about big tires and wheels on f150 isn't safe. He has nice 06 lifted gmc diesel truck, but mine is surely look much sexier ha. Thanks y'all for replies.
Of course I will always avoid potholes ha
