Rust Through- Not covered by warranty
Ford just notified me that they were not going to take care of the rusted out cab corners of my 2011 F150 supercrew. The reason given was that the rust through must be naturally occuring?
Here are a few pics.
The truck is covered by a 5 year/ unlimited warranty on paint and corrosion but that doesn't mean much.
I think I'm done with Ford.

Looks pretty natural to me. I'd get another opinion.
But this is typical warranty crap. Same as insurance. They talk a big game but when it's time to do a claim they start trying to get out of it. Nature of the world today.
Not just Ford, all will do this crap

Before you swear off Ford for that rust, take a look around at other vehicles 5+ years old around Eirie, Pa. or anywhere else in the salt belt.
It's not all vehicles that are rusted through - although many are.
Much of the rust is due to (lack of) maintenance issues.

Rust Through- Not covered by warranty
The warranty is 5 year. Not 6.
If it makes you feel any better, my bosses 2012 Acadia had all 4 doors rusting within 2 years of ownership. They said "yes that's warranty. When we get time we'll do it. " They kept pushing him off, until he hit 100k miles. Then they said they can't do it, it's out of warranty.

Christ do you ever wash the thing?
My 11 has lived it's whole life in a salt belt area and zero body rust. Did you ever get it undercoated or oiled?

You're right 5 years, that's what I meant. Based on when I bought the truck that covers it until November 2016.
The rest of the truck including the frame is spotless. I am surprised how nice the frame looks and how bad the corners have gotten. I noticed some faint rust stains on the corners maybe at most 6 months ago and now it looks like this. Probably from washing it too much. I go through an automatic wash place at least 4-5 times a week.
