I am lookingf to do a DYI bed liner on my rocker panels, bed corners and wheel wells. Curently have surface rust that i am taking care of. Question i have is what is the best DYI liner you all have found to do this with. Linex is out of the question for me as its 900$ and rhino was 850$. Thanks

Heck after using the Rustoleum Bed Liner Black Paint , I wouldnt consider Linex , If I had plenty of cash laying around Id get Rhino lining ... Its tuff , Linex is decent but it doesn't hold up on our work trucks anyway .... Rhino is better when it comes to the expensive stuff ....
I use Rattle can Rustolem bed liner paint from walmart 6.50 a can , this stuff is great sticks to anything darn good and if it scratches ...paint it again .... One thing , Stuff sticks to it and its hard to keep clean . ....and dirt is a pain to scrub out if left too long , you almost have to brush it clean ... I did my nerf bars , undercarriage and wheel wells with it and it looks good but its hard to keep clean ... I thought about doing just the thin strip below the rocker until I found what a PITA the stuff is to keep clean .... .. And if you hunt geese ... It works great for flocking goose decoy heads ..

I use the Rustoleum bed liner spray on a lot of things, but I had my rocker panels and flares done by professionals. It's a LOT tougher than the rattle can stuff. Not even close. (provided it is sprayed on thick enough and properly). 4 flares and the both rocker panels = $500. make sure whoever does the spray for you premixes UV inhibitors in the plastic, or they'll dull pretty quickly.

Here's mine:

Wow that looks really good, I want to do that, except I will do my bumpers as well. I thought of doing it myself but probably better to take it to a competent shop.

I got a friend who used the rattle can stuff, and although it worked great, it looks as though it will chip easy, with these things, prepping and sanding is the most time consuming and hardest part for a DIY'er

Thank you! I will do the bumpers.... after I make them. I don't want to spend the ca$h for the spray on the wimpy thin gauge OEM bumpers.

Now I just HAVE to get a pic of my truck as it is now. I just installed some Red 3/8" Scotchlite in the body line between the gray and the rocker black.

It's Scotchlite reflective tape. 3/8" wide. A real bugger to find. 1/2" is too wide and 1/4" is to narrow. It offsets the 1/8" red stripe on the hood.
