This is only to carry the same load, has nothing to do with tread life which you did state.

But at 35 Psi on the P rated tires you do not get the best tread life either. As most do know that the outer edges round off real quick at 35 PSI on P rated tires.

you are exactly right sir... I had never noticed the relationship between p and lt rated street tires and had not fully looked at all the charts (i was looking at the at and mt tire charts and relating them to the p sized tires... since they are lt tires, i didn't bother looking at the larger lt tire chart at the end)

ok im a little confused....im running 315/70/17s falken wild peaks and have them at about 44 psi. should i be setting them at 35 psi? i would like to know because, especially during the winter, it seemed as if i had a "flat" spot and i got a little sometimes more rough bounce i guess you could say. i would like to get that taken care of. I've had it aligned 3 times, balanced 3 (including install) and rotated 2 times to change this with little success. the guy at my shop recommended i pump them up to the 50 psi to help with the "flat" spot. please help me with this. i believe they are a D load as well.

NO!!!! 44-50psi should be just fine. *NEVER* air up ANY tire according to the door jamb sticker! The only thing you'll gain is an empty wallet and bad handling.

OP: I did the same thing you want to do. I did the BOSS suspension w/2" on the front. 1" add-a-leaf in the rear. Nice-n-level. I got some used Raptor 17" wheels with 34mm offset (OEM 18s were 44mm offset). I put on 285/75R17 Toyo A/Ts. These are almost exactly 34" diameter. *NO* rubbing, even fully locked steering wheel! I'm so pleased. I run the Toyos at 50psi. Love the tires; love the handling; love the tiny "song" the tires sing on the freeway (not intrusive, whatsoever).

I'll post a photo later...
