Default Loose Rearview mirror

I got my eyebrow put on my windshield and now my rearview mirror vibrates over every little bump. The tint guy just split the tint around the mirror so he didn't take it off. The part that is loose is the ball socket on the back of the mirror. Is there some way to get that ball socket tight or do I just have to deal with it?

I bet he tried taken it off. The clip that slides into the metal piece on windshield is stretched out. You need a special tool to take mirror off. So will use a small screwdriver but mess that piece up. Same thing happened to mine

What did you do? Leave it be or replace it?

same thing happened to me...those mirrors are a bitch. went to ford to get it fixed, they told me to go to a glass shop because 9/10 they crack the window getting them off. the glass shop said 9/10 they break the windows....

long story short my windshield was already broken so i got it replaced and the glass shop managed to get it back on properly with the new winshield

its because the tab in the mirror is not going completely over the metal tab attached to the glass...you really need to push on the thing to get it on right

yeah, mine as well.... there is a crappy pot-metal clip holding pressure. I broke off the clip when they tried to fix it when they did it. with it broken off, just used some rubber cement and slid it back on, works better now that the clip is not partially in the way. if you have the mirror with wires, then the wires keep it from falling off and the rubber cement prevents anything from shaking bad..... need to redo it because it is starting to vibrate again.

I had the same issue. Took a business card and tore/folded it up a couple times and wedged it in. Can't even tell its there since it is covered by the plastic piece.

Went an looked at it closer this morning and it was the plastic against the glass so I wedged a business card up there to see how it works
