Yeah no issues with my CBI bulbs. Here's the full thread on the repercussions of the SS ballasts and probably better then me giving you bits and pieces.

Between the 2 sets of retros I've had(my old set and my parents set) I've had 5 harnesses.. So I know what they can be like.

After doing some rearranging in the garage I decided to paint my buckets and shrouds. I am getting pumped after seeing how these turned out. I ordered a set of putco leds for my fogs and some V3 Triton switchbacks to go along with the build.
I use oven cleaner to strip the chrome off of my shrouds and reflector buckets...
The shrouds are a glossy black underneath the chrome.
Next I used the oven cleaner on the reflector buckets.
It only took about 10 minutes and 2 coats of the oven spray to get the chrome off. The reflector buckets only took one coat and about 5 minutes for the oven cleaner to work it's magic.
I then sanded the shrouds and buckets with 800 grit sandpaper. I used krylon fusion satin black for the reflector buckets and rustoleum camo ultra flat black for the shrouds.
I have my night shades coming tomorrow so maybe I can get them done up then. What are you guys doing to prep your corner reflectors for night shades? Just sanding and painting? What grit sandpaper are you using if I should be sanding it first and should I wet sand or doesn't it matter? I know a lot of questions but I want it to turn out perfect. I'll continue to update you guys with my progress as I get my materials in.

So here is a sample shot of what my heads will eventually look like. I just got my night shades today so I'll be tinting the clear corner reflectors sometime soon. Then I can test my projectors and align them. My halos from Oracle will be shipping out sometime next week they said. Hopefully my ballasts from TRS come next week too.

Just bought this today! Looking to make this headlight. Does anyone see any problem with what I ordered? 100mm halo will work with the 3" lens and Apollo 2 flat shroud right? Can't wait to build this!

I got the corner reflectors all done... The F-150 I made a little darker than I wanted but I think it turned out Ok.
This will be what the final product should look like.
Now I need my ballasts to show up so I can wrap this project up! My SS ballasts I sent back got stuck in that traffic jam in Atlanta so that's why it has been taking longer than normal.
Almost done!!!!
