those relays go on the wiring harness, try replacing them and it might work
actually those relays look like they are for the other harness, it is possible if you open your relay box (the black box in your pic) that those are inside it

Thanks Joel, I've been assured by the builder of my lights if I experience any issues I'll be looked after. If there are any defects with my ballasts I'd expect them to show signs early on. It is a shame that your kit/ballasts didn't work out, halogen output just seems sub-par once you've gone HID.

Off topic I had some aftermarket LED tail lights, complete garbage I sent them back for a full refund and stuck with my OEM tails. I think all the Recon, Spyder, Anzo <insert eBay seller name here> tai lights are pumped out by the same craptastic factory in China. Some people are issue free with these products but I'm skeptical on their longevity. /rant off.

The cube relays won't fit any existing part of the hid kit... So maybe I require an adapter? Doesn't really matter at this point, but I am curious as to what TRS wanted me to do with them...

TRS has a vid on YouTube showing the install of cube relays... My relay harness doesn't appear to be the same as the one in the vid, nor accommodate the shape/size/inputs...

Any ideas for the sake of learning?

looks like the relays are for that style wiring harness.

If you are up for some trouble shooting I got some ideas to try

Those cubes will not fit my relay harness (black box behind my gloves hand), I measured widths of the tongs, impossible to attach anywhere. As per YouTube vid uploaded from TRS.

No there is no adapter that does what it does.

You need an actual replacement. Ask TRS for one, or I may have a spare I'd be willing to toss your way just on good faith - just to help a fellow retrofit user.

If TRS won't send one I'll see if my other harness still has it.

if you want to try, take the new ballast, hook both grounds directly to the battery and test it like that

Wow. That's very unexpected for me to read. Very cool. TRS is closed till jan 6, but I should ask for the accommodating relay harness yes. If they think for some reason the cube relays are better than this black one.
