My second set came apart so easily at 250 for about 25 minutes. No spider cracking. Pried a corner up good, got my fingers in there and pulled it apart super easily. My first set took me 5 hours to open, these took 5 minutes per light (minus the oven time of course).

I wonder if it was my oven that caused it. I didn't realize it but there was a heating element on the top ... Too much heat too close?. It had about 4-5 inches maybe more ....

Think if I had a hand towel or something to prevent the direct heat it would help and not effect the lens?

I put the rack on the lowest slot possible, but the lens was still really close to the top (2-3 inches). Maybe the top wasn't heating? I think mine heats from the bottom. I've never had an issue with spider cracking before.

I'm sure a towel will help, if it's heating from the top it's probably making a direct hotspot on the lens itself, then that little stop gets too hot too fast.

Those who resealed their lights with butyl tape - how long did you clamp the lenses & housings together for after baking?

Decided to go with a different look for the shrouds. Don't think anyone has ever done this before. I did the shrouds themselves in low-gloss black, and the shroud inserts in plasti-dip smoke. They look gray when the halos are off (which is the look I wanted) but also let the light through neatly and look like a satin clear when the halos are on. They also limit the amount you can see behind the shroud, but you can still see the hideous yellow ring on the halos. I think it's going to look really neat, though.

Getting extremely close to sealing them up - it's happening tonight! Probably will leave them clamped for 18 hours or so. I want them installed before the long weekend is done.
