Picking up the truck in 2 weeks lol... This is sad. I thought I wouldn't go down this road again...

This isn't my first rodeo, and while I promised myself I'd never bake again (holy crap was that not a fun project), I see no other option in getting a proper look to this truck. The shiny chrome reflector housings will just not suffice.
Unless someone comes up with a valid reason as to why I shouldn't just buy this eBay $300 set, crack it open and replace the internals with a TRS projector kit, I'm gonna get started in a few weeks.

I've read plenty of times that I should steer clear of eBay headlights, but I like the way the ones in the attached pic are put together. Wouldn't it make sense to start with these and retrofit the projectors, bulbs, and ballasts to them instead of modifying OEM reflector housings? Can someone please explain why you can't start with an eBay housing that looks exactly like what you want in the finished product but modify the guts to have legit hardware?

In most cases it's actually easier to start using the EBay lights because they aren't sealed as good. Now I know from first hand experience that it is easier to use eBay lights with the new Ram truck headlights when doing the retrofit. Most eBay lights use a type of butyl and not the Permaseal stuff that is miserable to undo like the stocks have. I don't know if your trucks are similar but I would imagine so. I only need 220 degrees for 10 mins and the headlight is apart with Ram eBay lights.

The other and biggest issue is poor outer lens quality that yellows over time like old ****ty lights on 90s cars. Or so I've heard.
