Newb Retro question. Where is everyone putting their ballasts when retroing OEM HID heads? I have the OEM hids on my 09 now, I was looking to reuse the relay harness that I already purchased.

Thanks. Is that the 9008/H13 relay harness? guess I'll have to ditch my current relay harness.

I had factory HIDs on my '13, so no. It's the harness from RaptorRetrofit for the HID to D2S swap we did. Similar to the H13 in looks, but the pigtails are different.

They're OEM '14 housings and D3S bulbs at 35w. They're not *brighter* but you can see them, and the cutoff, in the hid output.

I used 3M double sided rape to mount them to the side if the housing, running the D2S connector under the side mounting bolt, to the bulb.

For FX-R retrofitters:

How do you make the proper template to cut out of the reflector? And what ensures proper location between LH and RH?

Use steelstik to temporarily hold the projector in the reflector and adjust?

Are you using screws only or epoxy or a combination?

Which shroud is requiring the least amount of modifications/extensions for a proper fit?

Mine are mounted underneath each headlamp secured to the frame. I have both head and fog ballasts mounted right next to each other under each for easy access to all (I'm running retrofit fog lights too.)
